Exchange-Orphaned Grizzly Cubs

Apr 15, 2020

This Friday, April 10, 2020 photo provided by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks shows a trio of grizzly cubs, orphaned after their mother was euthanized after biting a hiker south of Glacier National Park, sit in a kennel at Montana Wild in Helena, Mont. State wildlife officials say the bears, which are being bottle fed, will become used to people and cannot be released into the wild. Officials are searching for an accredited zoo or sanctuary to take them. The cubs are about 2.5 months old and weigh between 11 and 14 pounds (5 and 6 kilograms) said Mike Madel, a grizzly bear management specialist with the department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
